Festive flavour to gin and rum

Gin and Rum Festival

County Ground first to offer top selection of refreshing tipples

Just three weeks before Northamptonshire welcome Middlesex for their first home game of the season, the club will be hosting a very different occasion when gin and rum will be the order of the day at the County Ground.

Sponsored by Schweppes 1783, the venue hosts a Gin and Rum Festival on 16 March, where there'll be 60 different gins and 60 different rums to sample inside the stunning home of Northamptonshire County Cricket, with some great entertainment accompanied by some terrific food.

The County Ground is the first stop on the UK's largest Gin and Rum Festival tour, which promises to combine unique spirits from all around the globe with a great selection of entertainment and food from around the UK.

Taking place between 16 March and 23 November, the tour will stop off at some other great locations including Edgbaston, Sandown Park, the Oval and Swindon's Steam Museum.

With themed bars, talks and master-classes from the best gin and rum producers, plus a complete gin and rum guide and free satchel bag with a festival Copa glass, it promises to be the ideal opportunity to learn a bit more about some of the nation's favourite tipples.
