Flux, capacitors… time to travel to Cardiff

British Speedway Grand Prix

Speedway on track for Principality Stadium

Just 25 days to go before the Principality Stadium roars to a different sound than that generated by 74,000 passionate Welsh rugby fans, as Cardiff gears up for the 2017 Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix.

The sixth leg in the race to become world champion takes place on Saturday, 22 July, when 23 heats of action-packed, wheel-to-wheel speedway will decide the final four to battle it out for the crown in Cardiff.

Taking 400 man hours and about 140 lorry loads of bespoke track material to transform one of the finest stadiums in the UK into a pitch-perfect racing track, the action at the Principality Cardiff will generate a thunderous atmosphere as 16 top riders challenge for the laurels.

Fans from across the globe will descend on Cardiff to watch the action-packed event and outside the stadium, the city centre will come alive with a carnival atmosphere as it plays host to the hugely popular and family friendly fanzone on City Hall lawn, featuring racing bike simulators, freestyle mountain bike stunt performers, Monster Energy entertainment, Capital FM’s Matt Lissack and the chance to meet and greet the stars of the SGP.
