Blofeld’s Angels of Death out in force

Blofeld's Angels of Death

London Film Fair

Among the guests at London Film Fair in February are three of Blofeld's Angels of Death from the 1969 James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service... Helena Ronee, Catherine Schell and Indian actress Zaheera.

The former angels join a host of movie glitterati that include Schell's fellow cast members from Space 1999... John Standing, Sam Dastor, Sarah Bullen, John Hug and former Miss World 1969 Eva Rueber-Staier, another Bond girl from The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy.

Mellan Mitchell, who also appeared in Octopussy and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is also down to be signing autographs, along with Sally Smith, from The Human Jungle and The Avengers. From behind the camera there're also director, writer and producer Harley Cokeliss, make-up artist Robin Grantham, art director Alan Tomkins and Brian Johnson, who did visual effects on Star Wars, Aliens, Space 1999 and Thunderbirds.

The convention is the number one event in London for vintage and modern film memorabilia and has been running since the 1970s, following on from the original collector’s film conventions organised by Ed Mason.

The continuation of that legacy, it has seen different names and organisers over the years but the roots are firmly planted in 1973 and the conventions bring dealers from across the UK, Europe, US, Canada, Australia and South America to London for a celebration of movie history from the silents to the present-day blockbusters.

Held at the Royal National Hotel, near Russell Square, the events are a treasure trove for avid film buffs, collectors, archivists, researchers and students.

A must for anyone with an interest in cinema and cult television, there are five events taking place this year starting on 3 February.

With stills, vintage and modern posters, programmes, magazines, books, cards, toys, autographs and organised signings, the shows are a must for anyone nostalgic about the movies.

Further shows are scheduled for 5 May, 7 July, 15 September and 17 November. For more information about the London Film Fair visit the website.
