Rai-Con a force for Star Wars Day

Rai-Con

A manga day in May

It promises to be a special Star Wars Day this year for anime and manga fans in Scotland, with the one-day cosplay convention Rai-Con returning to Glasgow on 4 May 2019.

With a wide variety of interesting events including panels, tournaments, competitions, workshops, screenings and the "not-to-be-missed" Rai-Con After Party... organisers have packed in as much anime and manga-related fun into one event as is humanly possible. There're sure to be plenty of stormtroopers, Wookiees and Sith feeling the force for this one.

Scheduled to take place twice a year, in the spring and the winter, Rai-Con is the brainchild of Attic Events, in partnership with a few exceptional friends and colleagues within the Glasgow anime and convention community.

With a dwindling number of purely anime and manga events taking place in Scotland, they decided it was time to try and reinvigorate the scene north of the border and started Rai-Con in March 2016, as a one-day event with an attendance of more than 1,500 people.

Since then it has continued to run bi-annually at the Royal Concert Hall, with attendance numbers growing year on year.
