Now in its 32nd consecutive year, Wigan Beer Festival takes place from Thursday, 28 February, to Saturday, 2 March, at Robin Park Sports and Tennis Centre, opposite the DW Stadium.

The festival will feature more than 70 real ales from brewers such as Newcastle's Almasty, Atom from Hull and Beatnikz Republic out of Manchester. There's also Gibberish from Liverpool, Velvet Owl all the way from Caerphilly, Wales, and Leeds' Wilde Child.

As well as a great selection of ales there'll also be a range of draught foreign beers, plus cider and perry, as well as food, live entertainment, games and tombola.

The festival opens from 5.30pm to 11 pm on Thursday, midday to 11pm on Friday and 11.30am to 9.30pm on Saturday.

Entrance is free at all sessions for CAMRA members, with non-CAMRA members also admitted free on Thursday. On Friday before 6pm admission is £1, increasing to £3 after 6pm. On Saturday entry is £2 all day.

There will be a free shuttle bus operating between the town centre and the festival venue, although donations are welcomed for the upkeep of the buses and service provided by the Wigan Transport Trust.
