Let's Rock Exeter

Retro blast at Powderham Castle

Powderham Castle is in for a retro blast on Saturday, 1 July, when 1980s legends Tony Hadley, Howard Jones, Belinda Carlisle, Jason Donovan and Toyah take to the stage for Let's Rock Exeter.

Located in a picturesque setting beside the Exe estuary just outside Exeter, Powderham Castle is one of England’s oldest family homes. Sir Philip Courtenay began building it in 1391 and it has remained in the same family to this day, currently home to the 19th Earl and Countess of Devon.

This year's line-up also includes Level 42, Big Country, Hazel O'Connor, Imagination, Chesney Hawkes, Jaki Graham, Katrina (once of the Waves) and From The Jam, featuring Bruce Foxton and Russell Hastings.

The retro vibe then heads to Southampton the following weekend when The Human League, Living In A Box, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Nick Heyward and Hue & Cry join the party for Let's Rock Southampton.

Jason Donovan, Level 42, Big County and From The Jam miss out on the festival on Southampton Common, as do Toyah and Jaki Graham, but the latter duo return to the line-up the following weekend when Let's Rock London touches down at Clapham Common.

Let's Rock London also features The Human League, Hazel O'Connor, Imagination, Howard Jones, Katrina and Chesney Hawkes, with Sister Sledge, Roland Gift, Heaven 17, T'Pau, Boney M and Matt Bianco (featuring Mark Reilly) joining the bill.
