Sheffield Zombies scare abated

Music In The Gardens

Bootleg Beatles and 10cc top the bill

Zombies were expected to be roaming in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens on Thursday night but Simon Pegg and Nick Frost must have been in town because the scare has been abated, although fans of John Reilly and Lewis Nitikman will now have to wait until Saturday to see their show.

With legendary 1960s rockers The Zombies having to pull out of Sheffield's Music In The Gardens event, Reilly and Nitikman will now be part of the support for Saturday night's performers 10cc.

Anyone who bought a ticket for The Zombies can gain entry for two people to any of the other three nights of the event, but refunds can also be obtained from the booking outlet where the tickets were purchased from, with "season ticket" holders entitled to a part refund of the total amount paid.

This year marks the 12th anniversary of the event, which has become a feature of the Sheffield music scene. Taking place now from Friday, when The “Bootleg” Beatles are the main attraction, the event concludes on Sunday with a “Night At The Movies”, featuring works performed by the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra with support from Unite The Union Band.

Add high quality food stalls, a good honest pint of real ale from Bradfield Brewery and the beautiful surroundings of the Botanical Gardens and you have the perfect mix for a lazy evening picnic accompanied by a hearty helping of great live music.
