Celebration of Manchester music, comedy and arts

Sonder Festival

Sonder hits the Northern Quarter

Manchester’s Northern Quarter will be buzzing this weekend as three days of music, comedy and arts come to the city from 30 June to 2 July.

Now in its second year, Sonder Festival looks to bring together creative talent from across the region to support some amazing causes and give people from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn new skills in the creative industries through an affordable and inclusive music event.

Tickets to Sonder are priced at £10 per day, or £15 for the full three days, and this year's festival boasts an amazing headline act in Leigh-based indie rockers The Lottery Winners, who play the Ruby Lounge on Sunday.

But there'll be plenty of pulsating music of all genres getting the Northern Quarter throbbing, as well as spoken word performers, visual artists, public speakers and plenty of comedy, including headliner Nathan Cato.

For 2017 Sonder has spread across seven iconic Manchester venues ─ including the Ruby Lounge, Gullivers, The Castle Hotel, Jimmy’s, The Whiskey Jar, AATMA and Soup Kitchen ─ and provides a great opportunity to catch up-and-coming musicians and artists before they make it big, with local record labels and organisations curating their own stages.

Real Record Productions are involved and a stage at AATMA will be managed by AnalogueTrash, a local record label bringing some of the most exciting alternative musicians to the city.

As well as The Lottery Winners there'll be the sounds of Louise Distras, Kapital, Dantevilles, Prose, Cleargreen, Lady Ice, Camens, St Lucifer, Jekyll, In Search Of Sun, Syd31, The Orchid Hunters, The Boston Shakers, Elevant, Liines, Sly Antics and many more.
