Splendour Festival

Wollaton Park ready to rock

Wollaton Park will be a place of Splendour on Saturday, 22 July, when Nottingham's favourite family festival makes its annual pilgrimage to the city.

Organised by Nottingham City Council and DHP Concerts, the event sees a diverse blend of musical styles descend on the park, including local unsigned bands and star attractions, past and present.

Phat Magic start the day's festivities on the Fringe stage at midday, with The Edi Johnston Bit, One Love, Dance Equation, Motormouf and Mrs Green following in their footsteps as the day goes on.

Nusic’s Future Sound of Nottingham competition winners Brotherhood get the music underway at 12.30pm on the main stage, when Nottingham singer-songwriter Georgie, Americana soul diva Yola Carter, folk artist Will Varley and pop superstar Gabrielle Aplin join Tony Hadley, Busted and the Kaiser Chiefs on the bill.

The day will also see performances from Buzzcocks, British Sea Power, Black Grape and more on the Confetti stage, when Billy Ocean will also be performing hits from his epic back catalogue.

The Acoustic stage will feature sets by Yazmin Lacey, Jimi Mack, Unknown Era, Tom Lumley, Lisa Hendricks, Young T and Bugsey, Billie, Sunflower Thieves and The Voice favourites Into The Ark.

Completing the lineup on the Comedy stage will be a host of comedians including Barry Dodds, Scott Bennett, Steve Royle, Jollyboat, Wes Zaharuk and Jim Smallman.
