Chepstow ready for Winter’s End

Winter’s End Progressive Rock Festival

Progressive times at The Drill Hall

For four days in April, Chepstow becomes a very progressive town when Winter's End takes over The Drill Hall with an eclectic mix of international rock theatre.

Following a resounding success last year, the Winter's End Progressive Rock Festival returns to the town in 2019 from 4-7 April.

The pre-festival party on the Thursday night features Fish-era Marillion tribute All The Best Freaks, plus The Lizzy Legacy, featuring Mark Colton of Credo and Aedan and Jordan Neale of Multi Story.

Then on Friday there's a Germanic feel to the evening when RPWL rock up as part of their spring European tour, with Midnight Sun and Aaron Brooks also on the bill.

Threshold make a welcome return to The Drill Hall on Saturday following inspirational sets at Summer's End in 2007 and 2008, plus the inaugural Fused Festival in 2011; while Scottish wizards Abel Ganz take time off from their new album to return to Chepstow following a great appearance at Summer's End in 2015. German prog band Cyril, French outfit Weend O and Liverpool-based trio Exploring Birdsong complete the lineup.

Legendary Dutch progressive rockers Kayak - led by keyboard player Ton Scherpenzeel - make their first ever appearance in the UK on Sunday, with the international flavour continuing with German proggers Crystal Palace and Euro outfit L'Anima. UK bands Zio and Godsticks complete the set.
