Llanfyllin Workhouse Party to swing into action

Llanfyllin Workhouse Party

Family-friendly fun in heart of Mid Wales

Llanfyllin is probably not a place many people outside north Powys are familiar with but if you fancy a family-friendly weekend away at the height of summer in a secluded corner of Mid Wales then there'll be plenty to keep you occupied from 7-9 July when the Workhouse Party swings into action.

Run by “The Workhouse” volunteers to raise money to continue the ongoing renovation of the building as a centre for community arts and education, the Workhouse Party is a lively festival that's great for all the family, with an extensive children's area, cabaret tent and a number of workshops to supplement three days of wicked live music.

A happy weekend aimed at people who want to relax and have a good time, the party is filled with music in four areas... the garden stage, acoustic stage, dub van and DJ zone.

This year the music comes courtesy of Big Snail, a five-piece alternative band from Llanfyllin; Brexit HC; I Am Sam; Def Neon; George Williams Duo; Dred; Timberwulf; A Noise; Mascot Moth; Tangerine Cat; Nuclear Lullaby; and Jo Le Taxi; with more acts yet to be announced.

There's also plenty of space to camp on site and with a selection fine ales, thirst-quenching lager and great food the party provides the perfect platform for three glorious days of music and dance in Mid Wales.
